I am currently in the middle of preparing for a career pivot into intellectual property. Part of this journey is preparing for that US Patent & Trademark Office Registration exam, or more commonly known as the "patent bar". It has a very low pass rate, usually south of 50%, and I have already failed it once.
Long term I am interested in law school, and while not an immediate goal I do plan on taking the LSAT sometime in 2025.
My goal is to commit somewhere in the neighborhood of two-hundred hours of preparation for these exams. I will be sharing my study schedule, notes, and progress here. I welcome anyone interested to join me in this journey and wish me luck!
Above is a rough schedule outline from the first time I took the patent bar, as well as an extension as I prepare for my second rodeo. This will likely be changing frequently as life comes at you fast in your 30s. Flexibility is never a bad thing.
Goal is to get trough something resembling a "section" every 1-2 weeks, with a time in the neighborhood of 200 hours. Effort tracking will be done on this spreadsheet. I also plan on uploading my notes once they are finished and any other resources I have on hand for anyone interested.
